Jack Black opened up about the start of his relationship with his wife Tanya Haden, whom he originally met during high school in Santa Monica and did not begin dating until 2005, during his appearance on Dax Shepard's 'Armchair Expert' podcast. When Black, 54, appeared on the Monday, August 5 episode of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast to promote his upcoming movie Borderlands, the actor spoke to how he and Haden — a musician and daughter of the late jazz musician Charlie Haden — started dating years after they originally met during high school in Santa Monica, California. "I had always been so kind of intimidated and never really wanted to really approach — she made the first move is the point," he added, noting that their romantic relationship began when they both found themselves at a surprise birthday party for a mutual friend. While speaking to how they got married so quickly, Black recalled that he and Haden initially agreed they wanted children, but not necessarily marriage — until his brother talked him into proposing.
