J.J. Abrams’ Superman Movie Receives A Long-Awaited Update


Is J.J. Abrams’ black Superman movie dead in the water? After years of silence, one of DC Studios’ most controversial projects finally gets an update.

Originally set to helm a Justice League Dark storyline for the burgeoning universe, each project slowly stalled before quietly being cancelled. Abrams next project was announced during one of DC’s most tumultuous times, with the franchise seemingly having no clear path forward after the failure of Justice League. A small spark of home was seemingly found in Abrams, with it being revealed that he would produce a movie with a black Superman written by legendary scribe Ta-Nehisi Coates.
