J. Michael Cline, a founding investor and former chairman of online ticketing service Fandango, died Tuesday after falling from the window of a high-rise hotel in midtown Manhattan. Before he launched Accretive, Cline was a founding investor in Fandango in 2000 as a partner at General Atlantic and early employees of the service whom Deadline spoke with today called him absolutely key in getting the new company off the ground. Notably, he negotiated deals with movie theaters chains including Regal and Cinemark, none of which used online listings yet, to join the site.
