J. Cole Shows Solidarity with Kendrick Lamar by Debuting Two Previously-Unreleased Collaborations


On the latest episode of his Inevitable audio series, J. Cole dropped the Kendrick Lamar-assisted 2010 collaborations ‘Shock the World’ and ‘Temptation.

While Drake and Kendrick Lamar's feud continues to heat up, J. Cole, who’s collaborated with both, has fond memories of his work with the Compton rapper. On the fourth episode of his limited audio series podcast Inevitable, Cole played two songs that he recorded with Kendrick in 2010, titled “Shock the World,” which features BJ the Chicago Kid, and “Temptation.” On the Tuesday, November 26th show, per Billboard, Cole recounted meeting Kendrick at the 2010 XXL Magazine cover shoot, where the Dreamville Records co-founder was photographed alongside other rappers, including Top Dawg Entertainment artist Jay Rock. Also, on Tuesday, it was announced that the next installment of Dreamville Festival will be held from April 5-6, 2025, at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina.
