J. Cole Felt ‘Conflicted’ and Spiritually Unsettled by Kendrick Lamar Diss: ‘The World Wants to See Blood’

J. Cole has apologized to Kendrick Lamar for taking aim at him on the diss track '7 Minute Drill.'

The rapper's own read of "7 Minute Drill" isn't too far off from the general response to it, but he regrets giving into the pressure of rap beef and admits: "That's the lamest shit I ever did in my fucking life" During his headlining performance at his own Dreamville festival this weekend, the rapper led the crowd in a reflective meditation on “7 Minute Drill,” the diss track he released in response to Lamar’s featured verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” admitting: “That’s the lamest shit I ever did in my fucking life.” The hesitancy in “7 Minute Drill” was a reflection of the real-life struggle Cole was faced with when responding to Lamar’s verse, which took aim more heavily at Drake than at him.
