John, renowned for his portrayal of DCI Tom Barnaby in the beloved murder mystery, bid farewell to the show in 2011 after gracing screens since its original pilot in 1996. While his journey post-Bergerac and Midsomer Murders has seen him age gracefully, John also starred in the BBC drama Poldark, portraying the character Ray Penvenen in its second and third seasons.
