While some viewers found the unexpected reference hilarious, pointing out that they did not expect to hear a 1960s novel quoted on the dating show, others were not impressed. Before making it onto ITV2, the famous analogy had already been going viral on TikTok, with people posting pictures of fig trees that represent their dream lives.
