ITV Breathtaking viewers ‘crying their eyes out’ after ‘hard watch’ drama
As ITV's three-part medical drama Breathtaking drew to a close on Wednesday evening, viewers at home couldn't stop crying as they tuned in, with several dubbing it a 'hard watch'
In the final episode of the series in particular, viewers were forced to watch a doctor break down in tears after being unable to help a patient, who later died alone. In the same stretch of time, viewers also witnessed the traumatising moment a doctor was forced to inform a concerned relative that her husband had died with a telephone call - a call which later prompted lead character Dr. Abby to publicly go on the record as a whistleblower to reveal the true extent of coronavirus on the health service. With a fifth fan then adding: ”#BREATHTAKING is a must watch on @ITV1 & @ITVX, it really shows the impact inside the #NHS during the #Covid pandemic and how it affected staff and the health care system as a whole as well as the effects #Coronavirus had on people who where seriously ill.
