Alan became one of the best-known villains in showbiz - appearing as Hans Gruber in Die Hard, the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Professor Snape in the Potter films. Martin Freeman had an unconventional love story playing John, a professional film stand-in who ends up getting engaged to Judy (Joanna Page) after meeting while simulating sex scenes.
