Issa Rae Says ‘Insecure’ Fans Have Asked For Finale Reshoot: “People Are Really Mad”
Though Issa Rae's 'Insecure' has long since wrapped, the multi-hyphenate is very aware that some fans are displeased with the ending.
After five seasons spanning 2016 through 2021, the perennially awkward and self-titled Issa Dee opts to rekindle her romance with on-again, off-again beau Lawrence (Jay Ellis) to the chagrin of many devoted viewers, who had long since dismissed the ex as no good, especially after he fathered a child with another woman, Condola (Christina Elmore). “People have told me to reshoot, which is crazy because they didn’t like the decision that Issa makes in the end,” the media mogul explained. The One of Them Days producer will not be revisiting Insecure — about the everyday experiences of a Black woman in Los Angeles and her friends (portrayed by Yvonne Orji, Amanda Seales and Natasha Rothwell) — any time soon.
