International Productions in Spain Generated $1.5 Billion in Direct Spend Over 2019-22 – Report
The productions sparked a “ripple effect” of at least $2.4 billion in Gross Value Added (GVA) contributions to Spain’s economy at large.
SAN SEBASTIAN — Released Sept. 21, Netflix’s latest data dump for first half 2024 estimated that non-English stories were “hugely popular,” making up early a third of all its viewing. Breaking down expense on a high-budget film, the report estimated that 74% of below-the-line production spending went to other sectors, such as construction, hospitality, transportation, and location fees. We are achieving that the audiovisual sector is becoming a true motor of industrial growth and job creation,” said María González Veracruz, Secretary of State of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures.
