With Tarantino’s donations — along with 5,000 individual contributions from the likes of David Lynch, Wang Bing and Leos Carax accounting for about a quarter of the required cash — the activist group that had occupied the space since 2019 was able to raise the €2M ($2.1M) needed to purchase the building, save the venue from closure and keep it community-run.
