International Emmy Winner Aokbab Chutimon to Star in Thai Horror ‘Fortune Seekers’ as Night Edge Pictures Debuts Sales in Cannes (EXCLUSIVE)
International Emmy-winning Thai actor Aokbab Chutimon will headline supernatural horror film 'Fortune Seekers,' which is launching sales at Cannes.
The horror thriller marks a genre departure for both Chutimon and director Yanyong Kuruaungkoul, known for comedies “App War” and “Ready, Set, Love.” The film centers on Bua, a skincare clinic assistant born into misfortune who discovers a mysterious amulet allowing her to “borrow” others’ good fortune, only to unleash a malevolent spirit that threatens everything she holds dear. “Good fortune comes to those who seek it, but what happens when you unearth something evil instead,” Night Edge Pictures CEO Hans Audric Estialbo told Variety. The film’s roster of co-producers include Thai companies Matching Maximize and White Light Studio, alongside Malaysian entertainment giant Astro Shaw.
