Inside Zoe Ball's heartbreaking year as she quits BBC Radio 2 breakfast show


Zoe Ball has announced she is quitting BBC Radio 2 after a 'heartbreaking year' which has seen the popular presenter cancel a number of shows and take a lengthy hiatus from work

The broadcaster's fans were deeply moved earlier in the year when Zoe bravely opened up about her mum Julia’s battle with pancreatic cancer in March and subsequent transfer to hospice care. Zoe announced she was leaving her radio show earlier this year (Image: PA)During one particularly poignant on-air moment, she paid a touching tribute to ambulance staff and dedicated a heartfelt Bon Jovi track to them. In September, Zoe returned to the airwaves, but her absence had left fans confused, especially after sharing a social media post which stated "See you at dawn" just before her unexpected break.
