Inside the Time100 Next Gala: Sabrina Carpenter Performs, Laufey Wants to Collaborate With Reneé Rapp

Sabrina Carpenter, Reneé Rapp and Laufey were among the honorees at the Time100 Next Gala in New York City.

But I don’t believe the Asian actresses who came before me didn’t deserve it,” Sawai said, noting they either did not have the chance to play “complex roles” like her “Shogun” character Mariko, or they were “still limited” even when they received opportunities.
