Donald Trump ‘s address to a joint session of Congress was about what you would expect it to be: full of boasts and grand pronouncements, laced with long-debunked claims and sprinkled with moments for reality TV attention spans. In the chamber, the atmosphere was much more caustic this time around, not just for Trump, who chided Democrats for not getting on board and applauding him, and the opposition party, with many of the members booing and brandishing signs calling out the president and Elon Musk. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wore a “Trump Is Right About Everything” red hat, an apparent dress code violation, while Elon Musk started taking video shortly after he entered the gallery.
