Inside Prince Frederik's wild past and 'affair' that left wife Mary heartbroken
As Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik prepares to take the throne following his mother Queen Margrethe's shock abdication, rumours are already swirling around his marriage to Crown Princess Mary
The couple married in 2004 (Image: 2004 AFP) Before he fell head over heels for his wife Mary, Frederik was known as the 'Casanova Crown Prince', thanks to his string of glamorous ex-girlfriends, including a serious relationship with lingerie model Katja Storkholm during the late nineties. According to a 2008 unofficial biography named 1015 Copenhagen K, royal reporter Trine Villemann claimed that Katja played a significant part in Frederik's preparation for his future role as king, and she even helped him craft his speeches.
