Inside Out 2 overtakes beloved children's movie to become top animated film of all time at global box office with $1.4BN
As of Wednesday, Inside Out 2 has taken in $601 million in domestic revenue and $861.8 million in international earnings since it arrived in theaters June 14.
The movie, which features Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke in the respective roles of Joy and Anxiety, surpassed the 2019 Disney film Frozen II ($1.45 billion) at the global box office on Tuesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Inside Out 2 has been lucrative in Europe and Latin America, and THR reported that the $55 million-plus it has earned in South Korea has Disney optimistic it will be successful in Japan, where it is still due to premiere. Inside Out 2 was directed by Kelsey Mann and features a supporting cast consisting of Ayo Edebiri, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Lilimar and Grace Lu.
