In a statement issued last week, Buckingham Palace announced the King was diagnosed with a form of cancer after the disease was found during his recent operation for an enlarged prostate. With a wildflower meadow, cottage garden and arboretum, Highgrove House reflects Charles’ long held interest in sustainability and the environment, and even features its own reed bed sewage system and Biomass boilers. Queen Elizabeth II liked to be at Windsor Castle a lot in her last years, but Charles usually only goes there for Royal work, so is unlikely to choose to spend a long period of time there recovering.
