Announcing the news back in January, the football icon explained that while he was in “love” with the club, city and supporters, it was a decision he had to make. In 2022, Jurgen opened up about his and Ulla’s relationship, explaining to Liverpool FC that “the most important contract in my life I signed” is the one they made as partners. Ulla, his wife, is in charge of everything in terms of that, and he said: ‘The bloody thing's not even ready yet, and I'm paying all the bills!’,” former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson told Off the Ball earlier this year.
