The show's opening story, Dead Man's Time, begins with a vicious robbery that draws Roy and his team into a puzzling investigation involving the theft of precious antiques. But as Roy scratches the surface of the victim's life in Brighton, he uncovers ancient grudges and a mystery that has haunted their brother (played by John's former co-star Philip Glenister) for years. Their paths crossed in a studio canteen where Emma, a self-confessed fan of The Lakes, a show that catapulted John to stardom, was utterly starstruck upon meeting him.
