Inside Freddie Flintoff's return to TV after life-changing Top Gear crash and  £9million BBC payout as former cricketer reflects on his recovery in new show Field Of Dreams

Flintoff was filming Top Gear at Dunsfold airfield in Surrey when a horror crash left him with severe facial injuries and several broken ribs.

It would also prove to be the death knell for Top Gear, with the long-running BBC show subsequently axed and Flintoff negotiating a £9million settlement with his former employers for two years' loss of earnings. The father-of-four starred in many episodes of Top Gear alongside his co-hosts Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris, but his life-changing crash turned the 'dream job' into a nightmare. Immediately following the crash Flintoff was faced with an 'agonising' 45 minute wait for the air ambulance to arrive and rush him to hospital, with the BBC later giving the presenter an apology.
