Shameless star Amanda Ryan has a key role in Charlie Fairhead's Casualty exit episode - but what is her life like off screen and where have you seen her before?
Casualty is set to welcome back more than one familiar face for Charlie Fairhead's finale after 38 years on screen, but while some of the guest cast are former stars of the show, viewers might also recognise Amanda Ryan. She plays Mel Sinclair in the double episode telling the story of Charlie (Derek Thompson) bowing out and her storyline features her struggle with an abusive husband that puts her life in danger. It's not unusual for the series to recast actors for different parts - in fact, Annette Badland who appears in a Charlie flashback as the retiring nurse in charge earlier in his career has also played four other Casualty characters over the years.
