Inside ‘Speed’ Costars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock’s Bond: They’re ‘Truly Just Good Friends’
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock have been friends for more than 30 years and an insider exclusively tells Closer how they've maintained their strong bond.
“Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera,” Sandra Bullock said on the “50 MPH” podcast last year, during a special talk for the 30th anniversary of their hit 1994 movie, Speed. “They like the script, and they think the fans will enjoy it,” says a source, noting that Keanu famously declined to return for 1997’s heavily panned Speed 2, and the pair’s 2006 time-travel romance, The Lake House, wasn’t as successful. Sandra, whose marriage to Jesse James fell apart in 2010 after a very public cheating scandal, can relate: She lost her partner of eight years, Bryan Randall — whom she described as “the love of my life” — to ALS in 2023.
