New details emerged after influencer Valeria Marquez was shot and killed during a livestream in Mexico
Denis Rodríguez, a spokesman for the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office, told the outlet that two men pulled up to the salon outside on a motorbike, with one entering the establishment wearing a mask. The man shot her with a gun while she was sitting in a chair at the salon, which is located in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, holding a pink stuffed pig. The prosecutor’s office shared to The New York Times that the crime was being investigated as a potential “femicide,” meaning when a woman is presumed to be killed due to her gender.
