Premiering in World Cinema Dramatic Competition, the romantic drama written and directed by Talati is set at an elite boarding school in a small Himalayan hill town in northern India and follows the story of Mira, a 16-year-old girl whose rebellious sexual awakening is hijacked by her mother who never got to come of age. Also active in the documentary space, Shuchi has served as story producer for the Emmy-nominated Being Mary Tyler Moore, as well as Netflix’s vérité series We Are: The Brooklyn Saints directed by Rudy Valdez, and Wyatt Cenac’s Problem Areas for HBO, earning a GLAAD Award nomination for her work on the latter. An alum of Berlinale Talents, her work has been supported by grants and awards from Sørfond, Aide Aux Cinémas du Monde, New York State Council, Région Île-de-France, and others.
