In an Oscar First, 2025 Telecast to Stream Live on Hulu in Addition to Airing Live on ABC
For the first time since the Oscars were first televised in 1953, the 2025 edition will stream live on Hulu, in addition to airing live on ABC.
Many award shows, even those still airing on broadcast networks, have taken on streaming partners in recent years. On Oct. 30, the Recording Academy announced a new 10-year global deal for The Grammys to be exclusively simulcast on ABC, Hulu and Disney+ beginning in 2027. The American Music Awards’ last regular yearly show, in 2022, aired on ABC and streamed on Hulu.
