Ilona Maher shared that she called her mom, Mieneke, and sister, Olivia, the day after losing her virginity in her 20s
The Olympic rugby player agreed with her, noting that before calling her mom, Mieneke Maher, she hit up her sister Olivia’s girl chat to share the news. The Olympian is so close with her family that it inspired her to include her sisters in a new podcast “House of Maher,” in which the trio will discuss Ilona’s life in the public eye in addition to athletes and pop culture. “I’ve always believed in showing up as your full, authentic self whether that’s on the rugby pitch, on social media, or now, in the podcast world,” Ilona told People in March.
