If you thought Saltburn was raunchy, Poor Things will send you into meltdown

Hot on the heels of raunchy flick Saltburn, Golden Globes winner Poor Things has upped the ante with a steamy movie that is so controversial it needed re-editing for UK distribution

However, if you thought that made for uncomfortable viewing, you may not want to settle down to watch Golden Globes winner Poor Things with your folks anytime soon either, as that too embraces sex, eroticism and the downright weird in a whole new way. Starring Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo, Poor Things is actually an adaptation of a 1992 novel by Alasdair Gray, and largely focuses on a woman named Bella Baxter in Victorian London, who is crudely resurrected by a scientists after taking her own life. The scene in question featured a father hiring Bella, who worked as a prostitute, in order that his two young sons could watch and learn as she had sex; but this needed to be re-edited to comply with the Protection of Children Act 1978.
