Iconic soap star breaks silence on axe after 30 years as he says 'it wasn't my choice'


Neighbours icon Ryan Moloney has played Jarrod 'Toadie' Rebecchi in the Australian soap opera since 1995, but is set to wave goodbye to the character in upcoming scenes

Ryan reflected on how the character has shaped his life over the past three decades while chatting with GMB hosts Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins about the show's upcoming Death in the Outback special week. During the ITV morning show, Charlotte expressed her concerns about the ominous title of the special week, saying: "I'm slightly worried that this is called Death in the Outback, which seems to suggest that your departure could be a terminal one." Despite his contentment, Ryan confessed earlier this year that departing wasn't entirely his decision, admitting: "I've been wanting to leave for quite a long time, but Neighbours is one of those jobs that you work with awesome people.
