Ice Spice Sued for Alleged Copyright Infringement Over Hit Single ‘In Ha Mood’

Two musicians accused Ice Spice's 2023 hit single “In Ha Mood” of infringing on the copyright of their song “In That Mood” published a year earlier.

The song was later released as a single in early 2022 in connection with an advertising campaign that never ran and later in July 2022 as part of Chamberlain’s album “Boom Bap 2 Drill Rap,” the filing claims. “Upon information and belief, Ice Spice, Riot, and/or members of their creative teams were present for certain public performances of In That Mood during the relevant time period,” the lawsuit alleged. Last year, Ice Spice took home Best New Artist at the 2023 MTV VMA Awards with hits like “ Princess Diana ” with Nicki Minaj and “ Karma ” with Taylor Swift.
