Ice Spice was spotted out in New York City on Thursday as she promoted her debut album Y2K!, which comes out on Friday, July 26.
The 24-year-old rap artist — who covers the September issue of Rolling Stone — was aptly clad in a soft pink tracksuit with her album title printed across it, in a nod to early 2000s fashion. In her conversation with the music publication, Ice — born Isis Gaston — admitted she still listens to Matty Healy's band The 1975, more than a year after he faced scrutiny for racially insensitive comments he made about the rapstress. In February 2023, during an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show, the British singer confused her heritage — her father is African American and her mother is Dominican — and referred to her as Inuit and Chinese.
