Ian McKellen Reveals He’s Been Approached To Reprise His Role As Gandalf In Andy Serkis’ New ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ Films

Ian McKellen says he has been approached to reprise his role as Gandalf in new 'The Lord of the Rings' filmed being overseen by Andy Serkis.

Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who co-wrote the original trilogy, are set to write the screenplay, along with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou ( Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim). He told BBC Radio 4’s Today show that he had physically recovered from the incident, during which he suffered a broken wrist. ‘And apparently I shouted out, ‘My neck is broken, I’m dying.’ I don’t remember saying that, so there was a lot going on in my head as the body responded to the fall.”
