Ian McKellen Cancels Final ‘Player Kings’ Performances After Falling Off London Stage

The Noel Coward Theatre in the city's West End said McKellen will return for a national tour July 3.

Ian McKellen will not return for a final three Players Kings performances in London ’s West End after falling off the theatrical stage on June 17. The Noel Coward Theatre in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, said David Semark would take the role of Sir John Falstaff for the last scheduled performances in London while McKellen “recuperates following his fall.” Since the accident, during a performance of Player Kings last night, my injuries have been diagnosed and treated by a series of experts, specialists and nurses working for the National Health Service.
