I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Babatunde Aléshé is set to be the Head Judge of this year's BBC New Comedy Awards

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Babatunde Aléshé has been revealed as the Head Judge of this year's BBC New Comedy Awards.

And the most recent winners, Joe Kent-Walters, Dan Tiernan and Anna Thomas, have all gone on to sign with high-profile agents and have pilot shows in development or will be taking their acts to Edinburgh Festival. Each qualifier, which takes place in September, will be televised weekly from October 2 on BBC Three before November's Grand Final and will be screened on BBC1 and feature a special performance by 2023 NCA winner Joe Kent-Walters, AKA Frankie Monroe. The incentive to win the sought-after award has never been higher as this year's winner will receive a paid commission to write and perform their own 30-minute audio pilot under the mentorship of a BBC Comedy Commissioner, plus a trophy and £1,000 cash.
