Huw Edwards received indecent images of children from convicted paedophile

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the identity of the paedophile who was messaging Huw Edwards in an explicit WhatsApp group chat - the man was already a convicted sex offender

Philip Evans KC, defending the Welsh presenter in court today, stated: "There's no suggestion in this case that Mr Edwards has... in the traditional sense of the word, created any image of any sort." After entering his pleas, Huw sat staring into the distance, with his head tilted slightly upwards and adjusted his tie as Ian Hope, prosecuting, laid out the case against him. He continued to grace our screens until July 2023, leading the corporation's coverage of the late Queen's platinum jubilee, her passing and her funeral, as well as the coronation of King Charles.
