Huge Emmerdale name quits to move to rival soap in huge shake-up


Emmerdale's boss Kate Brooks has quit her role for a job at rival northern soap Coronation Street and will take over creative responsibilities for the ITV soap from April 2024

Kate has climbed the ranch to become head of Coronation Street as previous boss of Corrie, Iain Macleod has become Executive Producer for Continuing Drama at ITV. Speaking fondly about her co-workers, Kate continued to say: "I've absolutely loved my time on the show, and I've had the privilege of working with such a hugely talented and hard-working bunch of people, who also happen to be the loveliest, too." Kate is married to Emmerdale actress Michelle Hardwick who plays Vanessa WoodfieldKate is not new to Coronation Street, having worked there before as a story producer in 2012.
