Yet 25 years ago, life presented Chris with a devastating challenge that would forever alter his path, casting doubt on the possibility of ever taking part in something like Strictly Come Dancing. Retinitis pigmentosa, or RP, encompasses a variety of genetic disorders that damage the light-sensing retina at the back of the eye, leading to progressive sight loss. Moreover, Chris revealed that while producers initially proposed support from a specialist in teaching visually impaired individuals to facilitate his training with Dianne, he wasn't keen on the idea.
