How Prince William will step up and cover some of King Charles' duties
The Prince of Wales is returning to public engagements this week after an extended break and is likely to fill in for some of the King's duties while Charles undergoes treatment for cancer
But King Charles – a renowned workaholic – will carry on behind the scenes dealing with his daily red boxes which contain his state business and official papers. The King and Queen were expected to visit Canada in May, and Australia, New Zealand and Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in October. William, who is in regular contact with the King, is said to have grown closer to Charles in the wake of Harry’s controversial interviews, documentary and memoir, which saw him launch a flurry of allegations at his family.
