How Hollywood Productions From ‘Abigail’ to ‘Wednesday’ Came to Shoot on the Emerald Isle


'Abigail' and 'Cocaine Bear' among the Hollywood films to have shot or completed post in Ireland.

Ruth Treacy, co-founder at Tailored Films, says that today, Ireland can also offer state-of-the-art studio facilities on top of a wealth of locations so productions can be entirely based in the country. Treacy acknowledges Screen Ireland’s support of “The Apprentice” and sees the Cannes competition title as a “massive opportunity for the industry” in terms of being able to attract post-production on other films to the country. “For a little country in the west of Europe, we are punching well above our weight,” remarked film officer Lynn Daly, who said requests for shooting permits have more than doubled in the last decade.
