Home invasion of creepy crawly 'beasts' as they make their way into homes as temperatures drop
This time of the year brings a 'mass hatching' of daddy long legs and combined with wet, cold conditions and moisture in the air, they are making their way inside more than ever
Sophie Thorogood, a pest prevention specialist at Pest-Stop, offers some insight into why these insects are so common at this time of year and, more importantly, how to keep them out. “Winter is a peak time for daddy long legs to come indoors, this is because there is a mass hatch of the larvae leading to more adult crane flies emerging due to the wet environment” says Sophie. Daddy long legs prefer moist environments, as with most insects so reducing humidity in your home can make it less appealing to lots of different pests,” Sophie says.
