Hollywood Restarts After L.A. Fires: ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ ‘NCIS’ and More Go Back Into Production

Production is beginning to restart in Los Angeles after pausing last week due to the wildfires that have devastated the area.

According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, all four shows will shoot on closed sound stages with monitoring by health and safety professionals throughout the day. The COVID lockdowns, writers’ and actors’ strikes, and the collapse of the streaming bubble have all driven down the total number of productions in recent years. More strong winds are expected to hit Los Angeles and Ventura counties later this week, potentially driving new outbreaks while complicating fire fighters’ efforts to combat ongoing situations.
