Hollywood actor and Pearl Harbour star dies aged 91
Ron Harper, who is best known for his role in Planet of the Apes, has died at the age of 91, his family have confirmed. The actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles
Ron was famous for playing astronaut Alan Virdon in CBS' Planet of the Apes in 1974, and also starred in the much-loved children's TV show Land of the Lost. The actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles More recently, Ron appeared in the 2001 blockbuster Pearl Harbor, where he acted alongside stars like Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale. After graduating from Princeton, Ron moved to Hollywood and began his theatre career in 1955 - although it wasn't an easy decision, as the star had other talents.
