Owen Warner has announced he has quit his role as Romeo Nightingale in E4 soap Hollyoaks after six years, admitting that leaving the show is 'a really sad thing to do'

He's tackled some big storylines during his time as Romeo, including most recently killing his abusive partner Rayne Royce, portrayed by Owen's off-screen girlfriend Jemma Donovan. Owen confirmed his Hollyoaks departure in an interview with The Sun, saying it is "really sad" to be walking away from the hit soap and he hopes producers will keep the door open for him to return in the future.
