Hip Hop Awards 2024: Travis Scott Accepts the ‘I Am Hip Hop Award’
The emcee was honored for displaying what it means to be hip-hop.
The “FE!N” rapper was celebrated with a video tribute that featured several of his peers, including Teyana Taylor, Bun B, DJ Khaled, and Teezo Touchdown. During his acceptance speech, after receiving the award from collaborator Tyla, Travis expressed gratitude to God, his parents, and his grandmothers, who he said pray for him daily. Travis ended his speech with a powerful message about overcoming obstacles and finding success despite limited resources in his hometown: “And I just want to let everybody know where you come from doesn’t really matter; just what goes on in your brain can take you to the next level and beyond.
