Fox News turned away an ad for The Apprentice that Briarcliff Entertainment chief Tom Ortenberg tried to place during Wednesday night’s interview with Kamala Harris. They never heard back, but felt it was bad form to air a commercial with the depiction of a presidential candidate and a political context during Harris’ segment, even if the spot pits a young Trump against Roy Cohn in the assessment over the value of ingesting cheeseballs. “Fox News’ refusal to run our TV ad for The Apprentice is just another obstacle we will overcome in our quest to bring this brilliantly reviewed film to audiences nationwide,” Ortenberg told Deadline.
