Here are the key dates for the 2026 Oscars, Including earlier submission deadlines in the song and score categories.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences on Monday (April 21) announced key dates and various procedural changes for the 2026 Oscars, which included separate, significantly earlier submission deadlines in the two music categories. For consideration in the best picture category, films released from Jan. 1 through June 30 must have shown proof of submission for Producers Guild of America mark certification or awards-only determination no later than Sept. 10. Public communications (including any social media posts, reposts, shares and comments) may not disparage the techniques used in or subject matter of any motion picture.
