On the night of the 2024 Tony Awards, one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals unveiled a brand-new movie teaser featuring Ariana Grande singing snippets of her Wicked character’s signature song “Popular.” The cinematic 30-second spot for part 1 of the Wicked movie musical shows the film’s title being spelled out letter by letter, in between shots of the pop star’s Glinda floating in her magical pink bubble and Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba putting on her iconic black witch’s hat and grabbing ahold of her broom. Fans previously got to hear a taste of Grande singing the famous tune in the full-length Wicked trailer, which dropped last month.
