Later in his career, the star was paired with Julia Roberts, one of the most popular actresses in the world at the time, and he played her leading man in multiple romance films, demonstrating the success of their on-screen chemistry. He has preivously worked on Broadway, and he won a Golden Globe Award for portraying the slick lawyer Billy Flynn in the film adaptation of the musical Chicago in 2002.
