Harvey Weinstein Granted Hospital Transfer Ahead of Rape Retrial

A judge has granted Harvey Weinstein's request to be transferred to a hospital, where he can stay during his upcoming retrial in New York.

Weinstein’s lawyers requested the hospital transfer earlier this week, and on Thursday night, April 17, Judge Paul Goetz approved the move. “Because of this mistreatment, he has been worn down considerably health-wise, and now faces the stress of trial in this condition, which may very well lead to serious health complications, even death,” his lawyer, Imran H. Ansari, wrote at the time. Ahead of the retrial, prosecutors brought one new sex crime charge against Weinstein, with an anonymous woman accusing him of sexually assaulting her in a Manhattan hotel room in 2006.
